About me

I’m Nikola, a software engineer from Croatia. I got my CS degree from FER Zagreb in 2019 and currently work at AVL.

Outside of work, I like to keep busy. My brother and I have done a bunch of Ludum Dare game jams together. He does the art, I do the programming. We started with Nottingham in Unity and then switched to Godot for Tempore, Abyssal Transit, Dreamcat, and Viral Inflection. 72 hours is never enough, but we always manage to ship something.

I also really like computer graphics. I’ve written a couple of ray tracers in C++ (and then spent way too long parallelizing one of them), played around with ray marching in GLSL, and generally enjoy turning math into images.

When I’m away from the screen, I like messing around with electronics and Raspberry Pi stuff. Soldering things, reading sensors, hooking up weird circuits at unreasonable hours, that kind of thing.

On the programming side, I mostly use C++, Python, and Rust, but I’ll pick up whatever makes sense for the project.

Oh, and my cat Cicibela, she was the inspiration for Dreamcat. She doesn’t care about any of this.
